The team were keen to ensure that they were implementing changes that would not only provide them with ongoing support, but also with enhanced online security – while maintaining complete compliance with GDPR legislation. This would give DNG Flanagan Ford peace of mind that their data, their company, their talented employees, and their valued clients were all staying safe and protected.
The small team had been successfully managing their digital operations for many years from their own on-premises server, running Server 2012 R2. However, with Microsoft announcing that they would be ending support for the product from October 2023, DNG Flanagan Ford made the right decision – to begin the process of replacing their legacy hardware and software as soon as possible. This would ensure that new systems were in place well before Server 2012 R2’s end-of-life date.
Following a full analysis of the organisation’s needs, we agreed that the best course of action would be to transition DNG Flanagan Ford to the cloud, building a secure cloud-based environment that would tick all boxes. Ultimately, we made the decision to combine two Microsoft cloud technologies.
Firstly, an accounting package was deployed utilising the Azure virtual desktop. Secondly, we implemented Microsoft 365 Business Premium to meet the team’s security and compliance needs. This would ensure DNG Flanagan Ford had access to critical security features, including modern authentication for secure login, and enhanced device management options.
This meant that the team were able to continue providing an unrivalled service to their residential and commercial property customers.
